We let the Magpie out of his enclosure when it was time for him to go. He didn't have a particular place to have to be and they're so social that once he grows up a bit more he'll probably leave. If not we'll have a Magpie living on grounds, we have others nearby anyway.
We still feed him and will until he doesn't need us to randomly drop food places anymore.
More pictures uploaded to my website of my internship. I will just keep uploading all the pictures I take into this folder throughout the next few months.
If you ever have a question about a bird you see I can tell you more about them. Some are residents and some are rehabs or birds that only stuck around a short time.

We don't have any currently, sadly the only to 2 come in both ended up dying on us. D:
My favorite owl so totally sucks that I don't get to be around them much. We have like 9 Great Horned Owls, 2 are residents and the rest are rehab cases. and we released a Burrowing Owl yesterday.

The one who died was less sucky than the one we had t put down. I thinkt hat's the worst part is when a bird obviously won't make it and we have to end things. D:

The "Transforming owls" we have are Screech Owls, one is a Western and one is an Eastern. They're resident birds, we had another that was a rehab case, he left this past weekend.

He came in still stuck in the grill of the truck that hit him. The eye injury according to the vet was an old one and not from being hit by the car. He still has good vision in it. IT's cause however was unknown.
His leg was broken and we pinned it. He's still alive but stopped using the leg again so we're worried, if he can't start using it or if it re-broke we'll have to euthanize him.

This is the same owl when we put him outside after the pin came out of his leg.

the fact that you work with magpies makes me a very happy magpie myself considering most people consider them pests. I've rescued two in my life, one which went to a bird sanctuary out of the city(the other refused to take him because, and I quote 'he's just a magpie .__.). And the other I let go when he seemed able to fly. I really wish I could work with animals, birds in particular more. Such a lovely shot, as well as the rest of the birdies in your gallery :>
