It’s hard to describe my relationship to this person, but we haven’t talked in years. Someone messaged me on Facebook to tell me that they died last month and they left me something in their will. We were never super close, and it feels like it shouldn’t be big deal... but it is.

A gentle reminder for myself and anyone else that needs it: When you’re upset about something, it’s not usually one thing that’s bothering you. Take care of yourself first, and unpack everything second.
