Shirley (her real name is Xhar'li-gra'dein, but everyone winds up calling her Shirley after botching the pronunciation a few too many times) is part of a story idea I've had for a long time. Despite her jovial appearance, she's had a rather hard life in the past, and spent a good chunk of time as a hermit up on a mountain that wanted nothing to do with anyone. But due to circumstances I'd rather show in a story than in some little description for a picture, she wound up in charge of a group of bodyguards/maids for someone she takes care of. Of course, she's just as much a bodyguard for HIM, as she is a bodyguard for anyone who might be endangered BY him, should things go awry...
