A deity of my headworld, her name is Avia Soluna
Avia Soluna is a magnificent, monumental entity that ceaselessly circles and twists around the world. She holds the moon firmly in the curled tip of her tail, and the sun between her horns. As Avia Soluna winds around the globe, parts of the moon disappear from view, hidden beneath her tail.
When the sun first ignited, its rays struck Avia Soluna's eyes, and her pained tears filled the world with its oceans. She has kept her eyes closed ever since, drifting in blind peace. At night, the glimmering stars on her pelt shine brightly. Sometimes, on the clearest of nights, beautiful purple and green hues stretch across the sky in the closest view Lorn's residents will ever see of Avia Soluna.
Her pelt is iridescent, blended with glimmering stars where the light is weakest, and a glowing blue where it is strongest.
Many depictions of Avia Soluna feature large, raven-like wings, but no one can quite agree on her appearance. The only consistent features in depictions of Avia Soluna are her long, twisting body, her shut eyes, and her night-sky pelt (which might consist of feathers, fur, or scales-- who is to say?)
Avia Soluna is typically referred to with feminine pronouns, though she is largely considered a genderless being. She is sometimes referred to as The Dreamer, The Giant, and The Grand Constellation.
