I see. I've never seen one of those used in the field. It looks more like a modern drum magazine for something like a SAW. I guess the design had to come from somewhere. Most of the time you just see the belt being fed from a simple ammo box near by. I would not imagine that would be smart to fire unless from a stable position like a bi-pod.
