The bullpen was abuzz with activity. Mostly the officers were all looking over a series of calendars, laughing, pointing or just gently nudging blushing friends.
Judy blinked at the one Nick held before her.
"Mister October? It's... a very... flattering picture Nick but why October?"
"Well why not? The Boys of the ZPD Calendar was to generate funds for the children's hospital, and the photographer said that my natural coloring really worked well with harvest colors."
"I have to admit... the uh... farm setting kinda threw me. Good use of produce."
"That explains the drool." he teased handing her his handkerchief. "There were a lot of us ready to do our part... and show those darn Firefighters that we could be sexy too. But they wanted to get as much of a species-diverse cross-section of the ZPD as possible."
"Yeah. If this were a 'Ladies of the ZPD' they might have tried to get me in front of the camera." she observed flipping through the pages. "Some of these I expected. Fangmeyer was obvious. Wolfard understandable and of course Grizzoli makes a good Mister December. Clawhauser was a surprise."
"Is that a dig at his weight, Carrots?"
"No. Of course not... it's just he didn't seem the type. Still... Mister April. And then there's..."
"I know. We were all surprised when he volunteered. I mean you and I know he frequents the Oasis but this is whole other level."
"What? I'm not allowed to feel sexy?" came the voice from near their feet.
They turned their attention down to the ZPD's only Rat-Cop, Sargent Walter Hamlin who in turn smirked up at them
"Oh! Hamlin. Sorry... we were just caught off guard here." Judy explained. "Thought you were more... private than this."
"Look, I might be a grouch at times but a good cause is a good cause, and to be honest I have been working hard to turn around public perception of Rats and grubby, dirty sewer dwellers."
"If nothing else, the Grubby and dirty parts won't qualify after this." Nick chuckled. "Taking a bath for the camera... with strategically placed bubbles and everything."
"I know... my only gripe is the month they chose for me."
"What's wrong with February?" Judy asked.
Nick pondered a moment then begin to chuckle.
"Carrots... It's the -SHORTEST- month of the year."
