Floor plan - 1224 Staten Avenue, the house of Mara and Celes
Alrighty, here it is! Quite basic as I'm really not that much of an artist, but enough to be able to draw up these simple floor plans.
This here shows the ground floor and second floor of number 1224, Staten Avenue in the fictional town of Gruno Town, Colorado; the house where Mara and Celeste live. It's a bit of a visual aid to go with the description of their house as shown in the tour given to Cerise in the "Weekend get-together - Saturday" story.
I say again; I absolutely suck at scale, so please don't take the measurements of this floor plan too literal! Everything most likely looks way larger than it actually is! But still, this should give you a good idea of just how Mara's and Celeste's house looks from the inside Oh yes, and of course; those blue lines depict windows, and in the case of the ground floor, also the walls of the sun lounge

Did you base this off of any place in real life that you've been or just kind of out of your head? I have a floorplan (very rough sketch) of Nightwolf Manor that's based off my grandparent's house in Kansas...only I added several rooms to it.
This is pretty close to what I pictured when I read the story, so you did a good job describing it. =)

Actually, this came entirely out of my own head. I have done things like that before; the house of my secondary fursona Maunzi was entirely my own creation, as was the Temple of Bastet which my main fursona Zinzoline presides over
*giggles*
That's mostly because... well, the average house here in the Netherlands is kind of... dull. I want my characters to live in much nicer houses than that!
*giggles again*
And to be totally honest... I had already drawn this up on paper while I was working on the story, as a visual aid to myself, so... the entire description in the story was written while I was looking at the drawing on paper, hence why it is so similar The only thing I found out I had to do different was the north wall in Mara's and Celeste's bedroom; in the story, I have that room having two balcony doors, one in each other wall, and either door is in between two windows. when drawing out this floor plan, I found that wouldn't fit at the north part of the balcony is much shorter than I'd thought. Ah well... not such a big problem

Ah, yes... there are a few things not completely clear, I'm sorry about that. I'll try and explain
Yes, those arrows on the staircases denote the 'direction' of the stairs; up towards the attic, and down towards the ground floor. There was also an arrow pointing upwards in the Ground Floor part of this floor plan, but apparently it somehow got deleted without my noticing it before I saved and uploaded the file (my mouse is a bit ballistic on this laptop lately, and I might have deleted a layer too many in Photoshop).
As for that little broom closet at the 'underside' of the staircase to the ground floor you saw on the Second Floor part of the plan; that is in fact the same utilities closet as the one on the Ground Floor. That whole part between the two Guest rooms and the upstairs landing is in fact the first part of the ground floor hallway.
See, when you come in the front door, you enter the ground floor hallway, and the first section of that, up to where the stairs come out on the landing, has an 'open ceiling'. From the ground floor, you can see the second floor landing, which has a banister running along the entire side (remember the Happy Valentine story where Mara remembered aValentine's Day where Cee had dressed up as a Cupid kitty and swooped down on her, hanging by a rope from the banister? That's how Cee managed that; the ceiling over the ground floor hallway is open from the second floor landing to the front wall of the house )
Also, yes, the door to Mara's study is located under the stairs. That was a bit hard to draw in this kind of 2D layout, but the side of the staircase to the second floor is a closed wall with two doors in it; one leading to the closet under the stairs, and one leading into Mara's study
*giggles*
But thank you! I do really like how the layout of the house came out, and it is indeed a very lovely house to live in; I wish I had a place like that! Hee hee, and let me warn you about the story this floor plan goes with... it's that mature-rated Weekend Get-together - Saturday story, and you will need to set aside an hour or two or three for it to read it... it's 26 pages, 14.300 words long!

Alrighty! I'm glad my explanation could clear that up for you! And yes indeedy, it does look quite nifty, with that open ceiling and the banister in a kind of upside-down U (when you look from the front door inwards, anyway) along the side of the stairs, the front of the upstairs landing, and then the other side of the landing oppositethe stairs
*giggles and winks*
Just 26 pages, dear... but yes, it was a ton of fun to write, even though it took ages, and I do hope it will be a ton of fun to read as well! But judging by some of the reactions I have already gotten on it, I think it is!

Nice floor plan!
I've just created an architecture group on Telegram for furs/scalies who cannot get enough architecture and design! Would love to have you come and take part.
