Molly's trying VR! Maybe a virtual space will ease her social anxieties, I mean it's not real people whats the worst that could happen- oh no, no no no nope nope nope this is still scary she's disabling everyone's avatar and voice and going back to her player home, whew that was scary!
This is somewhat based on a real thing that happened to me, when I first launched vrchat I was automatically assigned an avatar and it just happened to be that of a possum wearing a hoodie. I explored at my own pace and looked for avatars, thinking I was all alone. Then suddenly I was approached from behind and the person started cat calling me, so I panicked and left the server! To say the experiences didn't influence Molly at all would be a flat out lie x3

You shouldn't venture into a game like VRChat until you are SURE you are ready. Trust me, going into rooms is not for the faint of heart and most times you'll get approached by furries, furry-haters, crashers, anime nerds, kids and drama starters, to say the least. Especially playing games like Among Us or Murder 4, or even finding avatars.
