This was something that I did last year, back when I was looking at clips of past Super Sentai seasons. It could be did to the fact that the mecha of this season is outright incredible, but for some reason, the most clips I would watch came from the 25th Sentai season, Gaoranger. Also at the same time, I was part of my college’s Anime Club, and most of the shows we’d watch fell under the genre of “Isekai.” Don’t ask me how or why, but both of these events, me watching clips of Gaoranger plus the overabundance of desperate escapist self-insert stories, led to the creation of this manga volume cover. (It’s supposed to say Crystaline Anthro Otherworld One-Hundred Beast Squadron: Gaoranger. Isekais and their long titles, mang.)
Supposedly, if this were an actual Isekai manga of some sort, I’d imagine it to be one suprisly that DOESN’T take place in a European-style fantasy world like nearly all of what I’ve saw at my Anime Club. Instead, this re-make of Gaoranger takes place in a world populated with anthro animals, including the Power Animals themselves, and the world itself is based entirely off of African folk tales and storytelling. Definitely a nice chance of setting compared to the indistinguishable fantasy worlds of the average Isekai manga/anime.
The actual Gaorangers, the ones who get pulled into this world (through use of portal-magic and NOT TRUCK-KUN) are going to be a bit different, in terms of team-numbers. While it does have the original members, Kakeru Shishi (GaoRed), Gaku Washio (GaoYellow), Kai Samezu (GaoBlue), Soutaro Ushigome (GaoBlack), and Sae Taiga (GaoWhite), I also made the choice of introducing two NEW members to be part of the main team. Those being Shoko Zouma (GaoGreen, tough girl with the scarf), and Machi Kiriyama (GaoOrange, diligent girl with the glasses).
Really don’t know what was going through my head when I made this picture, but I’m kind of proud of how this turned out.

i'm going to reply it in a sense of someone who is a fan of the show so forgive if it ends up long or means sounding but it's more about a fan talking to the other and tryin to get it out of my head than critizing you:
the crystalline animals part seens to be writeen correctly altough it could refer to any precious stone instead of crystal in particular. the last two animals in the logo seens like you took the ヤ and the tail drawing as one symbol, because two lines on the original logo are superflous just to make that tail, the animals look hella angry, the idea was just about the roar (gao = the sound of the animal roaring) i liked how you incorporated their themes in their clothing better than the show specially blue (love the shark mouth there), yellow and white even your oc orange, red and green don't have anything saying lion or gorilla, black's horn looks like the return of th bat nipples and the helmet of oishiblack from kyuranger, blue and black's haircut seems different and why is red using a ring instead of a cellphone. one more thing, where is gao silver?

Replying to what you said:
-I’m no expert in Japanese, but the whole reason I used the term ‘Crystaline’ is in reference to the GaoJewels, which in my opinion, are the collectible gimmick of the Sentai.
-As for the title logo, my intention was to make the ‘ya’ shaped like an eagle, while having the line that comes after it shaped like a tiger.
-The reason why the animal-letters look so pissed is because, it ties into this remake’s story’s theming. I’d imagine this otherworld where the Gaorangers are sent, to be under a ruthless authoritarian (and pollution-themed) control by the Orgs. Unwilling to abide by the Org’s dictatorship, the Power Animals choose their respective Gaorangers and bring them to their world in order to fight with them and help liberate themselves from the Orgs. Restless anger is a theme in the remake.
- I’m happy with how I redesigned the clothing. The ones from the official Sentai were, a bit too boring, with it being just a black jacket and their animal on it. My intention was to model these new uniforms to artwork seen in Africa, whether it be paintings or tapestries, with its use of abstract shapes and solid colors. Hence all the abstract looks.
-As for my FCs, Shoko and Machi. Every single of the Gaorangers’ family names is based off entirely on their respective animal. Shoko’s chosen Power Animal is GaoElephant, because Shoko’s family name, Zouma, has the word ‘zou’ in it, meaning elephant. Machi is assigned GaoGiraffe in reference to her family name Kiriyama, with the ‘kiri’ part alluding to ‘kirin’, giraffe.
-That’s actually not a ring. That’s actually GaoLion’s respective GaoJewel. And if you’re wondering, yes the G-Phones are still used as the transformation device.
-Finally, where Tsukumaro is. In the original Gaoranger, he doesn’t make his appearance as GaoSilver until much later in the story. If you see in the title, I wanted to picture to be some sort of manga cover attempt, with this being the first volume. And if you ask me, I don’t think Tsukumaro would be present in the first few parts of the story.

- the jewels are defintely the gimmicks, during the ending when they showed the other gao animals it was screaming "extra merch" , referenring to the japanese part i was just giving you a feedback of what you wanted to write vs what you had you written, which was basically the same (didn't check the "sentai" part, too lazy for it)
- the idea behind the new logo sounds cool, altough i'd have my reservations with it being in the power animal's world firstly because it's gao's rock and secondly because they push the org's shit in every single time
-like i said i liked your clothing better than the original
-i had noticed the animal reference in your FCs' name actually thought you wouldn't do it but got pleaseantly suprised when i noticed you did
- now that you pointed out it does look like the gao jewel, but the way he is holding made me think it was a ring
- gaogiraffe and gaogorilla also take their sweet time until they show up, i think gaogorilla actually makes litlle before gaosilver's org form, so the excuse of why silver isn't in the picture also applies for your fcs' would worke better if they are rangers from one of the jewels from the last episode (mouse, peacock, horse, etc) because it's said that the jewels were scattered all over the world not just nipponland where they never got out of, so it could be theorized that one of the remaining beasts was in france or some place and their help in the last episode would be like a helping hand from a old friend from another place
once again, just happy to talk with a fellow gaofan
