The other day, I asked if people would be interested in me doing more original content, as opposed to pre-existing stuff such as Pokemon. I didn't get that many responses, but what I did get indicates that you guys are generally in favor of me branching out with more of my own creations. So, with that being said, I nervously present my first attempt at creating a long-lasting original character for this account... Munica the Moth.
Munica is a silk moth, the grown-up form of the silkworm. Throughout her life, she was always in love with the idea of flight, but as she eventually found out, adult silk moths simply aren't capable of flying under their own power, unlike other moths and butterflies. Initially bitter at this revelation, Munica soon discovered that with a certain amount of lighter-than-air gas, she could defy the notion that she would never take flight... And from that moment, no obsession was greater in her mind than the desire to make herself as big as possible, to expand her limits in ways few other bugs could ever dream of.
Some things I would like to note about Munica:
*I have not settled on a definite personality for her yet, but she'll likely be quite peppy and eager to try new things.
*She does have tits underneath the moth fluff. They're normally pretty flat and only become prominent when she's inflated. This character is fairly anthropomorphized, so I don't really care about keeping her biologically accurate.
*She was possibly going to have two pairs of arms, in order to keep with the number of limbs that real moths have. While I normally like it more when anthro insects have the correct number of limbs, I think having more than two arms can be a hindrance when drawing inflation, so she only has a single pair.
*She might gain hair or something in the future. I didn't really think stuff like that was important while I was coming up with her.
This is a pretty uneasy step for me take, since I've never really been the type to heavily include original characters in my work (at least outside of pokemon-related things). But I want to experiment, and I want to see if this fat-bottomed moth girl can stick. If she does work, and people end up liking her, then I certainly plan on drawing "more" of her, in a number of different ways. And if she's a success, why stop at just her? We can't let her be alone in this world of weird, fetishy animals, that's for sure. Here's hoping it all goes well.

Hey so. I felt a need to add this or else I regret doing nothing sooner. So here's some feelings-bearing
I wanted to say that I this won't get the popular response I feel it deserves, and I think it deserves a lot. Like, a lot a lot. It frustrates me to no end that a picture like this only has, at the time of writing, 30 faves and three comments (not counting this one). It makes me mad that pictures of foxes and wolves, especially ones people have seen over and over again, are consistently more popular than this which this has love and heart put into it. Like, no, maybe not enough to be in an art museum, but enough that you clearly tried to make something you'd enjoy what you made. And I'd be so angry if a lack of a real response suggested I didn't notice or care.
And then you were kind enough to do something really awesome. You didn't just throw this on here and be like, "Ha ha it's a moth, I call her Munica and she likes to be a balloon." You shared your creative insights, your thoughts and why you made the decisions you did. That's so damn rare. Thoughts of artists are rarely shared and it bothers me so much when they're ignored. I really love your explanation for why you didn't do extra limbs. It's interesting that thought's been put into my head to make me self-reflect on what I enjoy.
You're so cool for making this OC and putting some effort into something you enjoy, and even more cool for being kind enough to share her and your thoughts that went through your head as you made her. I think you deserve so many more faves and so much more love. I wish more could see just how great what you, yourself, have made. All I can hope is that saying at least one person sees how great your passion is, even if I struggle to say it eloquently, means something.
Again, thank you for making what you enjoy.

First off, let me thank you for even making this comment. FA comments sections aren't exactly a great place to find real insight, so it's always nice to see ones that actually feel meaningful. It's rare to see a comment that gives such thorough feedback to one of my drawings, so I'll try to give it the kind of response I think it deserves.
The way I see it, it's sort of inevitable that I won't get as much attention for posting outside of the subject I usually do, which of course is drawing inflation. I can't really imagine why someone would follow me if they didn't like inflation to some extent. Even if it's disheartening to see certain pictures get a fraction of the attention that others do, I don't think I can really fault people for only being interested in certain things. Seeing someone else saying that this picture deserves more attention, however, makes me a bit fuzzy inside; I really do appreciate all the nice things you've said.
It's also interesting how you point out the fact that artists rarely share deeper thoughts when it comes to their works, at least within this community. I never really thought about it too much before; I just gave my side commentary on Munica's creation because I wanted to explain some of my decisions during the process. I'm pleasantly surprised that that small tidbit means what it does to you, and it makes me want to start sharing more personal thoughts on future pictures as well.
Lastly, the thing about your comment that I find the most impactful is how you voice your support for me doing what I enjoy most. That's honestly such a rare and encouraging thing to hear, especially from someone who I don't know very intimately. This means a lot to me, and you have my respect for being so kind.
I do have a feeling that Munica will start to get a bit more attention once I've blown her up once or twice, if that's any consolation.

People are entitled to like what they like. That's just how it goes. People don't have to like anything we make. But what I do fault them for is the nothing. It's one thing not to like something; it's another not to say anything at all when you ask, which is what sharing an art piece is. Even the people who have faved and enjoy this tend not to say much. And that's why I wanted to respond as I did. Nothing is frustrating and, for all the smiles you've given (for they are worth a lot to me), I wanted to say something so you knew some people care. I'm sure there are plenty others that care and just struggle to articulate for one reason or another. So yeah; here's one so you know for sure someone felt some passion from your work.
We don't ever have to become friends or intimate. I enjoy your art for its sake alone and just wanted you to know I enjoy it and this moth and all the directions you go. I hope you keep doing what you're doing, cause I love it, Munica is adorable and pleasant to look at, and I'm (I hope) healthily selfish for more of it. And looking forward to your deep thinks about your art~
