All Silver Mt. Zion's stuff is amazing.

I used to be the exact same way, but somewhere down the line I started finding more and more genres of music and groups that I really loved, some of which were really upbeat (like Architecture in Helsinki) and ever since, going back to Silver Mt Zion has a different kind of effect. Still love 'em, but I usually gotta already be in a cynical mood beforehand. The first track I ever heard of there's was God Bless Our Dead Marines, like 5 years ago on a university radio station, and they were the first band I sought out the full discography of [not that it's all that large...]
