Update:
Howdy y'all!
The competition is going swimmingly, we've had so many additions to the interactive that I have slightly lost count, and due to the overwhelming response, I've decided to add second and third-place prizes to the competition!
The second-place winner will receive a short, looping animation, 10 frames or less, with two (possibly three) characters max, and a background, like (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37145292/) or (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38871741/)
The third place winner will receive an animation swap-out from the game. This is where I take one of the 'mid' sections of a game animation (the looping section where you have to mash the arrow keys to escape), and put your character in Texas's position. To clarify, this prize only applies to the struggle portion of an animation, not the setup or KO. Here’s
LukeTUGS’s Tiger providing some examples: (https://sta.sh/01jb841l6uv) (https://sta.sh/01826gyg4voq)
I also want to remind people that the competition is for the single, best chapter. Many people have opted to create their own, whole new storylines for the interactive, and while these have been great, I do want to make clear that each author will only be judged on what I deem to be their single best chapter, so those who do make storylines have no advantage over those that don't. If that is what you want to do though, by all means go for it! I just don't want anyone to be disappointed if they've dedicated time and effort to writing a whole new plot, and I end up picking someone who instead went through and just added a handful of random (but enjoyable) bad ends to already existing chapters.
And with all that said, good luck, and go forth and write!

The gaudy advertisement does not lie! I'm holding a competition, and the prize is an animation!
Here's how it works:
In an effort to boost additions to, and awareness of, the Adventures of Texas interactive on CHYOA.com, whoever adds the best chapter to the Texas Interactive between now and midnight (AEST) on Monday the 7th of June, will receive a free animation request from me. That request will be for two characters, may optionally have a static background, and will be 100 frames or less, giving it a 10 second runtime (The same length as this animation: https://www.deviantart.com/squashed.....er-819344712).
To be clear, by the 'best' chapter added I don't necessarily mean the best written! The judging will be entirely personally biased, and the winner will be my personal favourite chapter added between now and the end date. That is the only criteria! It has to be the chapter that I personally like the most. There is no limit to the number of chapters that you can add (the more the merrier, I say!), but chapters will be considered on an individual basis. The winning addition could end up being a bad end, an incredibly nice buildup to a choice, a scene leaving Texas in peril, or even just the start of a new storyline that I like! Though in any case, I'd advise reading the guidelines on the sidebar when adding a chapter to make sure you're on the right track. (And don't add to the old Writing.com one! Any chapters over there will not get counted!)

Good luck!

Anything you want, really! You need an account on the site to make additions, but after that you just pick a part in the story you want to add a new chapter, whether that be an existing story path or a brand new one, and go from there. When you're making a new chapter there are a few guidelines on the sidebar to the right, but they're pretty limited. If you are still worried though, I'd recommend just giving what's already there a read through and trying to match the tone/content of the rest of the interactive in your chapters. You really can't go wrong with that!
I'd recommend playing the game and reading the interactive for the best sources of information on them, but I also have a bio on Texas here: https://www.deviantart.com/squashed.....ence-566137052
Well, I honestly wouldn't mind...it would be just like old times again...but, I get the sense that you don't want me to...since you still seem to be mad at me. So...I guess I won't. But, good luck anyway. I'm glad you're having so much fun with this and it's bringing you so much joy.
I'd like to contribute, but i'm not sure how this whole "interactivity" works. Do we write our chapter such that it could be appended to an existing one or do we start a whole new story line? Do we use the "create a villian" section" ? Are there any restrictions/preferences regarding setting and characters?
Basically anywhere you want to add a chapter, you just hit the 'add a chapter' button and go for it! You're free to either append an existing one or start a new one, and if you want to create a new villain, then that section's there for that. As for restrictions and preferences, I've left a few guidelines in the sidebar that comes up when you're adding a chapter, but basically: Keep the focus on Texas or April, and if you're writing a bad end, put (End) in the title.
If you're still a little confused, I'd recommend just reading some of the interactive and emulating what other people do regarding setting, story and characters. You can't go wrong with that!

Ah, that's because she's not actually my character, she belongs to my friend. I believe he has an old, possibly outdated reference somewhere on his DA page: https://www.deviantart.com/goopitygahpghee
