It's her personality. Basically, she's very blunt and doesn't remotely care what others think of her. Also, her job is a love-hate relationship thing. She's glad she has it since it gives her purpose, but she hates the amount of stupidity she deals with on a regular basis from it. She's also a dominant-type predator and will often permavore prey instead of reforming for the heck of it.
