Aw, conditions like that are majorly lame, dear sir. I constantly have to deal with severe anemia that comes and goes, and taking iron supplements lest I bruise, pass out, or sleep 14 hours a day is irksome at the least.

But it's a good thing to keep a sense of humor about. Trust me when I say you'll fall into a healthy routine of it. A few friends of mine have the beetus too, but they've actually because a lot healthier as people since stepping up to manage it. <3

Yeah, it can only benefit me positively in the long run.

Sorry to hear about it. All I can say is cut the carbs, lower your cholesterol, and exercise! I've gone from taking 1000mg Metformin twice a day with insulin shots, to taking 750mg once a day and no shots! You can get the best of this!

actually my mom's wife also has Type II diabetes, which makes me pretty SUGAR AWARE and etc.

ONE QUICK RECOMMENDATION: do not eat too much sugar-free candy at once, it can cause problems of the butt kind

It's such a common thing these days, and at least it's not the end of the world. Not like cancer or anything. Just be careful about what you eat/do etc...

My uncle and my grandpa have diabetes...but neither of them are blood related to me. Technically step-grandfather and my dad was adopted into his family so his brother isn't blood related to him (my uncle).

Not all diabetics are fat. I've known a few who are very thin and can't gain weight because of the form of diabetes they have.

This is true, while in the past, my heaviest was 235 pounds, in the last couple of years I've been under 200. I am currently at 155.

Damn! That's lighter than me! From 2000-2009 I weighed 150 despite being 6'2, but this year it went up to 160.
