So last Thursday
Shrag went with me to the humane society and offered to adopt another kitty for me. Thinking it would help with my general well being and such I decided I was ready, and we went to the shelter after having made an appointment.
On the website I perused the available cats, and of those out there I made a list of males, females, kittens, and cats that fit my interest. One photo in particular caught my eye, and it was of this adorable cat here.
Her name is Miso, and she's 4 years old. We met with a kitten, but after meeting them both we decided that Miso needed us more. I reasoned a kitten would have an easier time getting adopted, and her face really was just too adorable to pass up. Since she was an adult and already spayed, we were able to take her home that day.
She's been with us for about a week now, and she has been a mostly good kitty, following me around and spending most of her time wherever I am. I definitely think she has helped me.
We decided not to change her name, since Miso was really cute and I thought she might be used to it. Plus I know it means 'fermented soybean' so I call her my little soybean sometimes.

She's a Lynx-point Siamese! They have a more laid-back attitude than most Siamese and they tend to be friendlier. Pretty little thing -- I hope the three of you make a nice life together.
My Mom had one named Gonzo (after the character George Alonzo Gates on the series Trapper John, M.D.). He got along with everybody including his littermate Levi (who had 'blue genes') and bossed Mom's Scotty around. He tried to push my Alpha female Welsh Corgi off Dad's lap one evening -- big mistake. They agreed to a truce and that was settled.

The paperwork said domestic shorthair but it usually does.
So far the kitties are getting a little closer bit by bit without hissing and they've shown signs of finally accepting they share the house, so that's good. Miso has been pretty calm and mostly well behaved, she's been good for me I think.
