A very belated birthday gift for
IVES- happy birthday love. :)
I struggled a lot with what to draw. I know- give him a gun and stick him on a stallion, it seems so obvious now! But at the time I really didn't know what to do.
So, because we all know I'm a literary geek through and through, I based it on my favourite three poems of all time. My favourites mostly because I read and loved them at a young age when I first started reading poetry, so they have a nice significance for me. Not necessarily cause they're the best poems ever written. :>
So I based it on all three, but primarily this one, by John Dryden.
Happy the Man
Happy the man, and happy he alone,
He who can call today his own;
He who, secure within, can say,
Tomorrow, do thy worst, for I have lived today.
:)
Happy Birthday my dear. I hope you had a splendid day. ^^
(In case anyone is interested, the other two poems were

And literary geeks who can draw are the best kind of literary geeks :B
You have inspired me to now draw myself in similar situations and attire. I'm not sure why I haven't done so yet... maybe its such a sacred part of me that I have yet to let it surface in my art? I once before had two anthro characters that were highwaymen, a gray wolf and a rat. But they did not linger long....perhaps I didn't feel I was giving my love for highwaymen much justice. Although, my love, you have sparked a need in me to draw myself blazing down wooded trails on a mighty swift horse, masked, well dressed, and waving a pistol in the night air.
Thank you for this amazing and beautiful birthday gift. I hope you have some idea now of how much this means to me...
The lifestyle, the boldness, the nobleness and yet deviousness, the mysteriousness... yes, they all seemed so perfectly suited to you. I am surprised it is so sentimental to you, and yet completely unsurprised at the same time... even the attire seems suited to you. Galloping across the highlands on a great stallion, rapier at your side, pistol in your hand and coat flowing out behind you beneath the silver moonlight... yes.
I am... incredibly pleased it means so much to you. I really, really enjoyed drawing it- more than I usually enjoy drawing- and I'm happy with how it turned out. As for you drawing things of the same genre... well. Now I am excited. :)
It is honestly and truly my pleasure, and I can't tell you how much it warms my heart that you really like it. Your reply has made me smile and made my day on a day I really needed it. Thank you, hun.
Oooo >.> he never told you yet you knew somehow he liked them! Psychic meerkat! *plays twilight zone theme for you* XD
*nuzzles* Keep up the great work luff
