Half of my latest project for Hand Lettering for Comics. We were given a list of different types of text, ranging from 3D lettering to “Lettering around a spherical object,” and had to incorporate them into two separate environment illustrations. There also had to be some sort of word bubble dialogue in at least one of them.

I tried to use a single value of wash instead of a full range to give it that 1950's "cheesy space flick" kind of feel. I think it turned out pretty well. I also love the alien's dialogue balloon, hehehe.
