Oh, I like this a lot! Came out great! Love how even though the dead tree's branches hides part of her face, the readability of the character isn't prejudiced at all! And it makes a very nice composition too!

I was a little bit worried about that tree branch, initially, but it all turned out fine in the end! C:

Ricasso check, paarierhaken check, obscured face for a brooding air of determination, check, air trapped under dress in water, check, twisty graspy treelimbs in foreground, check...

This has lots of nice little well-executed details that make it what it is. Your palette is also awesome. At least as it shows on my monitor you've got a really nice little thing going there with warm and cool grays and gray-greens in the background and on her underblouse and skirt.

I did not expect this to come out the way it did. I did the drawing and just started painting where I thought things should go, and this is the result. I am pretty proud of myself on this one.

Then you have good instincts for this stuff. Kudos.

I think there's only a bit of unfortunateness with the branch shape/placement-- if you look at where it forks, the inner edge seems to follow along the edge of where the girl's head/hair would be, if we could see it (I'm not sure that makes sense, but haha, I hope you know what I mean-- the eye completing the silhouette and so forth).

I'm not sure it's a bad thing, but it does add a bit to the feeling that the branch is right on top of the girl's head!

Love the little details in this one, like the design on her gloves, the feathers/fur/moss on the branch, and the look in her eye. My favorite part is how her hands and where they grip the sword are the most sharply defined details. You can really FEEL how tightly she's gripping that thing, and a little tension like that goes a long way to conveying atmosphere in an image.

Plus, the color scheme works so well.

I love everything about this image except for that branch placement. I may have to change it...

I think she might be part of the comic idea I have in my head, I don't know yet though...

i was more thinking desperate, and scared but realises she cant run, so she has to either fight or be at the mercy of whoeve shes looking at, (i imagine a knight from a medieval raiding party or some men at arms)and something tells me the latter, judging by her expression, doesnt look too promising.

Your drawings are good at describing the scene, getting the general mood and feeling and action of whats going on. i dont comment to much but i love how you draw and i really like this picture ^^

Haha, yeah.

That is a cumbersome sword for a lady who wears Princess Peach brand gloves.
But on a serious note I like the ambient feel of the light even though there is some shine on her denoting a light source. It further ties in a swamp setting since there is always a muted, heavy feel in places like that.

I have always enjoyed the look and feel of swamps and marshes, but the bugs and large kill-you animals scare me, so i settle for doing my best to draw swamps well C:

Soft colors, her dress in the water and her expressive pose... love all of this.
And big sword, of course, I love it too
