"Y'see, the thing about Pantheran pirates, that makes 'em different from other pirates ya see coasting around the edge of tha Atorian sector, is their homeworld got enslaved, and they's the only ones who managed to get away. They don't do it to get rich the easy way, or cuz they're malevolent, or whatevs, but cuz they gotta survive without a whole lotta friendly ports to dock with. Pantherans fight with a lot more heart. they hit harder, and they don't scare off easy like other pirates
The Pirates say that one day they'll go back and take back their homeworld, once they've got enough gear to do it. I feel sorry for the Atorians, they's gonna have one helluva fight on their hands!"

There's something just so awesome about boarding actions in space. you almost never see anything "stealthy" about them. Always loud, hot, fast and violent as hell, my favorite kind of fighting

Actually when we were discussing reference pictures for armour and weaponry to get down the look I was going for the Starcraft II plasma cannon was used as a reference as I've always been a big fan of Starcraft's marine stylization. In this particular case however the weapon is intended to be a very large, semi-automatic coil gun while the other weapon is a laser cannon.
Well you could think of it as a big slug throwing shotgun in a way. The way it's intended to be is a much older model gun with a few modern upgrades (mostly in regards to targeting systems) that keep it in service that has one big plus in it's favour. Flat out kinetic power. The gun itself is intended to be slow firing compared to most models, but one that hits like a mule, so the trick is to make every shot count, because every single one is capable of blowing right through a light suit and badly messing up a medium suit while still being strong enough to even take down the heaviest suits in a few well placed shots. The laser canon on the other hand is intended to focus on rate of fire, and the ability to punch through or bypass most shielding systems.
With a gun that big, do you really need the scope and the laser sight? Yes, yes you do; you need to make sure all of the shot hits the target.
Also, it's kinda hard to be stealthy once you've pulled up to another ship, effectively rammed it, and set off every alarm with your forced docking. Yeah, bording actions are close range brutal affairs. Hit'em hard, hit'em fast. Yeah, you just love being in the thick of it don'tcha? That is how you spearhead an assualt right there. Man, those "pirates" look more like marines.
Man I love your sci-fi stuff. The design of everything is slick, the smoke is a beautiful touch, and the lighting is amazing. I'm not sure what else to say but, "wow".

Ah, I like how you have the laser hooked into an external power supply. Most of the time you see them with internal batteries, despite the fact that that would leave the operator with a fairly small number of shots. Also, I would not want to be on the business end of that other rifle, which looks real enough to blow holes through the wall behind my head.
Or one of my personal favorite ideas;
1): Allow enemy to breach the docking bay.
2): When enemy proves too powerful to drive back, retreat to outer area of docking bay.
3): Establish forcefield around docking bay section.
4): Use remote security turret to blast holes in docking bay wall, thus creating a vacuum.
5): Watch enemies fly away.
6): Be polite and wave goodbye through porthole.

This is what I imagine happening moments before:
*Firefight.*
P'ZZZEWWWW! *A laser punches Kesslan in the shoulder, from behind.*
*Kesslan grunts, only stumbling forward a step before turning slowly around, swinging his weapon about face.* Oh HELL no, you did not...
*BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!*

That's actually sort of what happens with the story written as a sort of reference.

People have mentioned how stealthily blowing a six-foot hole in someone's hull is impossible.
I will once again inject some science into this -- repeat after me, there ain't no stealth in space.
All you need is a big enough telescope operating in the infrared, and you will spot anything with a drive system or active life support in the entire solar system. Remember, nothing is perfectly efficient. That means everything makes waste heat. This has to be dumped overboard or it'll cook the crew (or solid-state guidance system, if it's a missile). Carrying around boatloads of coolant to dump hot stuff won't work; you'll need bigger engines to haul that coolant which means they generate more waste heat, and the dumped coolant will radiate. Also, it's not commonly known but quite true that in order to get gas mileage from a rocket, you want the exhaust gas to be as hot as possible. This will shine like a small star, if you're doing it right. Your choices are either big and slow and reflect sunlight, or small and fast and glow like a small sun.
Sure, you can start early and dump heat and coast for a while with minimal lighting, life support, etc, and radiate in only one direction - but that means predicting your target's movements andstarting ending your burn about six months before anyone thinks to get curious about you. And if you occlude a star someone's looking at, and nothing is supposed to be in that corridor of space, they'll know that something is there and if they're worried about pirates, they'll look closer. If they don't just send a missile to turn whatever-it-might-be, all they know about it is it's not on the list of things we don't mind being in our system, into stardust. And you can't evade it or shoot it down without lighting up the night sky.

That said, a lot of people that argue for 'stealth' boardings of space ships also assume a certain level of technological progress. Artificial gravity, forcefields, various new 'stealth' materials (Star Wars for example uses such concepts to a limited degree). In some cases if it's in a pitched battle you use a lot of ECM and smaller craft in hopes the enemy doesn't notice them with all the other 'noise' a space battle is generating.
Some settings go so far as to use things like magic, psionics (or like Star Wars 'The Force' which is sort of a mix of the two really)
Additionally on the matter of propulsion you have settings that use alternative methods of travel, some of which don't require traditional fuels but rather things like generators. Most present technologies based on such things still have emissions of course, such as the Ion engine. Other settings make a mixed use of things like chemical based drives and solar sails, in at least one setting in fact the sails are used as a method to get into that settings version of 'hyperspace'.
In the end though any setting where stealth attacks on another ship are possible either happen because the target has very poor external sensors, their crew isn't paying attention, or there's sufficient 'supertech' that alternative methods of travel exist and some of them allow for active or passive camouflage when it comes to space. That said I've never seen any half credible sci-fi where the actual breach of another ship wasn't stupid obvious (even if it was swift enough to catch some crew off guard) as it almost always involves either cutting through the hull, or blowing a big hole in it.

Still, waste heat is a thing ignored by every single sci-fi until Avatar.
Ion engines have less, but hotter, exhaust than chemical rockets. Look up the Ad Astara Rocket Company's VASIMR engine on Youtube to see the thing burning at 100,000 watts - it's really quite badass. Even reactionless engines need generators, which will tend to produce some kind of waste heat.
Chemical drives just won't get you there without a ginormous rocket ship, which will be easy to see. Solar sails will either reflect sunlight, or occlude starlight.
ECM may camouflage just where you're approaching from, but as soon as you light them off, your target will know something's out there somewhere.
Forget stealthy approaches and/or boarding actions. It's a much more pitched battle when both sides know what's coming for the last six weeks or more, and therefore there's more potential drama and excitement. :D

Which is why I pointed to ECM being used while a battle is already underway. They already know 'something' is there because that 'something' is shooting at them. What you want to do is make them think there's even more and hopefully make them miss any pings they get from boarding craft.
hmmmm once more my friend you prove to me you make pictures where people would be just plain stupid to wish to mess with the fuckers on the page!. *giggles and smiles* kinda like the one you did of Dorn ;3 though looking at this i almost wish ya could color up that one of dorn ya did in my sketch book T.T would be so awesome i think!
Hmmm, this song seems to go well with what you were describing here...

Wow I should have you draw My characters in my RPG! Or my stories ...I created an entire universe of five galaxies and about 200 races on various worlds with complete histories and a 200 thousand year time line. The game is only paper and pencil right now, but it is done. the scope is larger than WoWC or anything else Since I figured out how to use and apply time travel and alternate world/universes into the main game. as well as add magic working right along side of technology.
