Deep down, Bellwether is sad and lonely, that she's had nobody to turn to in her time of need. And when people like her don't know what to do with that loneliness, they snap and do things they later regret.

Maybe, maybe. A lot of what people say is to make themselves feel better. It's nice to think that the person who chews you out at the grocery store for no good reason goes home to a lonely and miserable existence. It's annoying to think they might be perfectly happy with what they inflict.
