A commission for wrytergirl.

This one too me a while to finish! The sketch easily took up the most time -- I must have gone through 3-4 different concepts before settling on this. It gave me a lot of heartache, especially since I was going through a block, but I managed, and in the end I enjoyed working on it. The character was fun, since I love horses, and the colors were interesting to work with. Since I didn't shade it, I took extra care with coloring the inks, and I'm very satisfied with how they came out. I also tried a new technique for hair highlights, and I really like the result.

All in all, a fun commission once I found my motivation. You can't go wrong with a western theme, either~
