That actually seems to be a depiction of the folk tale The Wolf and the Crane. In the story the wolf is eating his prey and gets a bone stuck in his throat and can not swallow it. The wolf asks a crane for help and said he would give the crane anything if he could get the bone lose, the crane agreed and lowered his long beak and neck down the wolf’s throut and freed up the lodged bone, and once removed, the crane asked about the promise the wolf made, and the wolf replied with; “Be content. You have put your head inside a Wolf's mouth and taken it out again in safety; that ought to be reward enough for you.”
