Nerdy Kink
Believe me or not, I never read Vicki Fox comics even if I remember seeing (and shooting a picture) of Vicki hand-painted on a huge sheet hanging in the great hall of the Engineering School I was studying... it was late 2004, early 2005... almost one year before I discover the Furry Fandom. I still have a hard copy of the picture (and even the film roll) in a drawer... in my work office desk (to long to explain why I keep these at work). - So, after some notes exchange with LongTom , I accepted the idea of drawing a paw related picture of this character (whose design is very close of my "comfort zone") just after reading this βcomic pageβ As you probably know: everything can be perverted into a foot-fetish bondage picture... including a theremin. And remember that this instrument is probably the only one that should be played WITHOUT TOUCHING IT. Consequently, this little illustration could be posted with a general filter because we all know that nothing inappropriate could happen to Craig Wolfe's captive paws...

Well... I should confess that I may have some kind of strange attraction for characters wearing eyeglasses (for example, the numerous pictures of short-sighted moles with Coke-bottle glasses I draw and post in my gallery). It gives them some kind of cute weakness, I guess. ^^
As I wrote in a recent notes exchange with someone on FA, the fact of wearing glasses bring some specific dimension to the one wearing them, becoming... [...] the stereotypical outfit of any discrete and shy character: the most iconic example in the World being of course Clark Kent, who hide his true "Superman" nature behind glasses. It is also the archetypal image of the office worker or the lab rat that would always stay in the background, behind the "true hero", who has a perfect eyesight (or contact lenses) to stay in the action... Someone with glasses cannot properly fight or do violent sport, so his life will always seem less exciting ans less "interesting" than the others. By consequence, a character with glasses will always hold some kind of "untouched" mystery (not to say sometime ambiguity) that makes it interesting, at least for me. Eventually, wearing glasses, especially corrective ones in case of myopia or strong astigmatism, is a weakness that make the glasses become a part of the body (I can testify... ^^) and may, to some extent, brings some kind of empathy.
Oh my goodness, somebody finally drew Craig in a cute situation like this! I've been such a huge fan of this comic for so long, so I'm super happy to see one of the cuter characters in a pawful situation from you ;) Very cool that you ran into stuff about Vicki Fox way back when. I think that might have been close to when I first discovered it as well.
Also, I (fortunately?) have no experience with a theremin. I've never even heard one before, to my knowledge.

I am glad you like it.
As I wrote on some comment above, I cannot hide my interest for characters with glasses... You probably noticed it since I enjoyed drawing your characters Alex the fox or Nash the bat (and I may have some unfinished picture involving Anne somewhere on my laptop).
The theremin was more or less designed as an electronic cello β https://youtu.be/pSzTPGlNa5U
The sound is very close to the one of a musical saw (personally, I am not able to make the difference).

It was actually an "Electro-Theremin" at the origine... yet I might be wrong.
There are many cover of this song including the "original" theremin.
I was very lucky to hear them live on stage at their concert in Paris (Olympia) a few years ago.
Their voices were not as "pure" as on their early records, yet their performance was quite impressive!

Now I am imagining that if a theremin had actual feelings and consciousness like a person, each time someone "plays" this instrument, it would be like tickle-torturing it and the melodious sounds produced would be in fact the hysterical laughs and screams of the poor theremin.
I won't listen to this instrument the same way after that... ...

Thanks. I like the artwork and good rendering of Craig.
Not a fan of "pain" themes, but the theremin is an interesting choice.
There was a picture of Vicki in an Engineering School hall?!
It would be interesting to see.
There were a few other anthro fox girls that were more popular back then, like Eric Schwartz's Sheila Vixen.

Thank you for your kind comment and sorry for depicting your character in a less "canonical" situation.
I have eventually found a photograph of this vixen taken in 2005...
... yet I am not at all sure the vixen was actually depicting Vicki.
I will try to send it to you soon via a FA note.

Je me demande parfois s'il n'est pas plus simple de fabriquer son propre thΓ©rΓ©mine plutΓ΄t que d'essayer de monter un meuble IKEA : https://youtu.be/46O65gqs03c ... bref. ;-p
