Much to my amazement, I have seen great blue herons in my hot springs fed ponds in central Nevada!
This is an outstanding shot - so good that it could be used to advertise lenses. What lens and camera did you use and about how far away?

I suppose it's just familiarity as much as anything, but Canon continues to impress me with not only their features but the base-line quality of their camera bodies. Plus, I've got different Canon lenses that would be pretty useless if I ever switched to a new brand.
