alright, just know that its weird and uncomfortable to see someone essentialize whole species when it's obvious from the story that both are pretty much same at least mentally, almost as if it's just politics and its not really that any species is bad. just focus more on individuals and maybe think what motivates them, I fucking hate bob too lol.
LOL. My first thought as well. At least the chef seems dedicated to his job. This story rings very true; lots of "soldiers" were conscripted during times of war, and weren't even given enough training to manage to last through a real fight. Glad to see that the chef is a level-headed kind of guy.
shit.
that's a little factoid which'd flown over my head for a long time now.
the reasoning behind most of the wars we fight these days: the whims of a greedy, powerful wealthy person who simply hungers for even more wealth and power.
the reasoning behind which innocent plebeians who, almost always, bear neither stake nor concern about these "politics," get sent off to slaughter — to advance the interests of a few, despicable scumbags who only care about themselves.
militaries: pawns who, mostly, end up battling (and killing off) other pawns; whilst invariably, during their campaigns, never toppling the queens, rooks, kings (or those others who aspire to become elevated to those ranks) who orchestrated the whole affair to begin with.
thanks for reminding me about that Vju
that was pretty insightful of ya: a wonderful way for me to bring into the full circle, my previously-existing knowledge of the pursuits of the Military-Industrial Complex.

👌🏾
you're like a sage, eh?
whatever the reason for their execution, i do know Wars rarely-ever are waged because the majority desires it
of course.. ..it is also problematic, whenever the "pawns" actually, willingly, co-sign the orchestrators' whims
(akin to what we're seeing with all the *rump supporters in the divided states, for instance)
i guess it all boils down to this simple aspect vju: humans have a long history of being shitty to one another
and with the steady societal regression i continue witnessing all around me ... i lose my ability to imagine any scenario for there ever being sustained World Peace, that basically doesn't involve the cessation of human existence
because, for some reason, it appears to be a completely-impossible "ask," to get others to agree to treat each other with dignity and respect.
this directive seems simple enough to me; but, obviously, many others (who, somehow, are imbued with remarkably-high propensities for amassing power / wealth) view this mode of living as "simply infeasible."
i hope nothing happens to the head chef.
even if no other members of your audience demonstrate an appreciation for his profoundly-elucidating statement, just know i am glad he said what he said (in such an easy to understand, concise manner!) '79.
