Pocket Zodiac:
Love Beyond the Stars
Story and characters by TheAnnonymousKat on Furaffinity though taking place in the world of Pokemon which is owned by Nintendo and Game Freak
Prologue- How the stars fall:
A large foreboding castle orbits near earth while 13 beings of varying shapes and sizes prepare themselves for their biggest undertaking yet. Within the large castle was the biggest threat the universe could ever imagine, and these beings took it upon themselves to confront this threat for they declared themselves protectors of our planet countless years ago. They were the Zodiacs, powerful celestial beings that have existed for as long as the stars have- Aries, Taurus, The Gemini twins, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Saggitarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces, and the threat within the strange space castle was a powerful and malicious being known as “Ophiuchus: The Serpent Bearer”. Ophiuchus had threatened to fill the entire galaxy with dread and despair, so in an attempt to stop him, the zodiacs had decided to confront him directly at his castle, which he made appear as soon as he made his own presence known.
The Zodiacs press on despite not knowing what dangers await them in the castle. Within the stone walls that were freezing cold to the touch due to the castle being in the vacuum of space, Ophiuchus had underlings patrol the corridors and checkpoints, and though powerful for a mortal, these underlings stood no chance against the combined might of the Zodiacs, whose power was so vast, it was rumored that even the weakest Zodiac could best the might of every legendary pokemon combined. Led by Leo and Virgo, the zodiacs quickly made their way through the castle, making short work of any underlings who stood in their way and navigating the castle with relative ease without encountering any of the traps Ophiuchus had prepared.
Before long the Zodiacs found themselves within the highest room in Ophiuchus's castle while the serpent bearer waited patiently for them. Ophiuchus facetiously greeted his "guests' ' and after exchanging some words, the Zodiacs and Ophiuchus began their fated duel. Though the Zodiacs were incredibly powerful and they had all trained themselves to never underestimate a threat, Ophiuchus was simply in a league of his own, one by one he defeated and captured the Zodiacs, causing their forms of starlight to retreat into constructs that resembled pokeballs of a celestial nature. Eleven of the signs had fallen, though one- Taurus, narrowly managed to escape and retreat to Earth in a crash landing while he was in critical condition. Thus marked the greatest loss the Zodiacs had ever faced, with the Earth losing most of its spacebound protectors, every human, pokemon and anything in between that would inhabit the blue planet was at The Serpent Bearer’s mercy.
For Eighteen years, Taurus wandered the Earth, drained of his power and anxiously waiting for Ophiuchus to make his next move, until one fateful day the bull encountered someone who would change his life forever. The person Taurus encountered was an unassuming young man who wasn’t very lucky at all, and though this person didn’t seem like much, he was the first human that Taurus had ever interacted with for an extended period of time, due to the secretive and discreet way the Zodiacs watched over the inhabitants of Earth. Thankfully the human could not only keep a secret, but was willing to allow Taurus to live with him after the bull had saved his life. The more Taurus spent time with this human, the more he grew to like him, until nearly a year into his friendship with the human, Taurus realized he had feelings for the human, and confessed to him, which the human wasn’t sure how to handle at first, but he ultimately decided that after everything they had gone through, Taurus was the most important person in his life.
So what began with the earth losing hope when it lost most of the Zodiacs who protect it, eventually became a situation that had some semblance of hope. With someone to love and support him by his side, Taurus undergoes his quest to save his allies, and defeat Ophiuchus once and for all.

“...and that’s the story of the Zodiacs kids” said the black haired young man who stood in the front of the classroom. Much to the young man’s surprise, the kids seemed invested in his story and even clapped when he was done, which the young man found flattering,
“What happens next though?” one of the children asked,
“I don’t know, the story has yet to be resolved,” the young man replied,
“Is this one of those stories where the ending is up to interpretation?” a young girl asked,
“No, like I said the ending hasn’t happened yet,” the young man replied,
“Why not come up with an ending? The story is pretty good so far,” said a young boy,
“Well thank you, though you can’t really rush an ending, a bad ending can ruin a story,” the young man informed the children, causing them to mutter in agreement among themselves for a bit. A young girl raised her hand,
“Mr.Ryusei, how do you know about all these things you couldn’t have been there for?” the girl asked, though a young boy beside her spoke up before the young man could reply himself,
“He didn’t see it happen personally, he made the story up to entertain us,” said the boy bluntly,
“Well actually I didn’t just make it up, I asked Taurus himself about the details, and he told me all of this,” the young man explained with a smile, causing the children to laugh and giggle at what they perceived to be a joke. It wasn’t long before the bell rang and the children began to pack up their supplies so they could go home, at this time a woman came back into the room,
“Aww, it looks like I missed my opportunity to squeeze a lesson into the last couple of minutes of class. I hope you all enjoyed Mr.Ryusei’s story, be sure to thank him for taking the time to come to class as a guest and share a fun story with you guys, and also remember that next friday we’re having a test on Pokemon types, so be sure to memorize them,” the woman informed the children as they packed up their supplies and left the classroom.
The woman then approached the young man,
“Thanks for helping me out Kenzo, there was an emergency with my Furfrou so I had to rush home to make sure he was ok during the last half of class,” the woman explained,
“Hey it’s no problem, I love kids, they’re the future of this world, and the one’s in your class seem really well mannered unlike the ones I grew up with,” Kenzo explained,
“You just got to know how to handle them,” the woman explained with a smile,
“That’s nice, anyway I should get going,” Kenzo explained as he started making his way out of the classroom,
“Y’know Kenzo, if you want I could probably convince the school to make you a full time teacher, the pay is pretty good,” the woman informed Kenzo,
“Thanks for the offer, but I’m not really cut out to be a teacher,” Kenzo informed the woman as he took his leave.
After telling his story as he covered for an acquaintance of his, Kenzo Ryusei started to make his way home, just a humble little house on the outskirts of New Star Town in the Constallis region, though as Kenzo made his way through some fields, the sky darkened and suddenly some pokemon fell from the sky. The pokemon were some Staryu, Starmie, and a few Minior, all of which bore a symbol that looked like a capital ‘U’ with a tilde through it. To anyone else, suddenly being surrounded by strange and threatening pokemon that fell from the sky would be unnerving, though Kenzo simply sighed since this had become so routine for him. A flash of light shined next to Kenzo before what looked like a large buff anthro Tauros with dual colored eyes, wearing some briefs and a belt that bore the zodiac symbol of Taurus appeared next to Kenzo,
“I liked your story too by the way,” said the Tauros with a smile,
“Can you save it for after we deal with these guys Taur?” Kenzo requested in annoyance. Taurus, or rather Taur then made a pair of gauntlets appear on his fists and started to fight Ophiuchus’ underlings, it was just another day in the uphill battle against Ophiuchus.
