Here we have Perry, who has to be hoisted out of the quicksand during his first initiation attempt. Unfortunately he would not be earning his boots today, but he did get to have some fun in the gooey muck.

The Mud Men Crew have set their clubhouse up in an abandoned quarry in the middle of a large forest long forgotten by any people in town.

Various pits of mud and quicksand are carefully labelled based on the type and consistency of the muck. Trailers and mobile homes have been set up as sleeping quarters for the mid levels, while much nicer cabins are set aside for the leader and senior members.

Prospects are housed in a single cabin lined with bunk beds. Each man is zipped into a sleepsack at night to ensure they aren’t going off to get into trouble.

Prospects must pass the initiation before they can graduate to mid level membership. The initiation is a tradition but also a safety test. If unsuccessful after the third attempt, you can choose to rejoin as a prospect the following year and reattempt initiation, or spend the year as a personal servant to a senior member, with very limited access to the pits.
