Old Trick: Overhearing too much!
Up until that very moment, Stella has been assuming that the two are physically affectionate because they’re packmates. This isn’t untrue, that’s just not all it is.
Things that have made this possible:
- Stella is the only one who works full time
- ~*perfectly good guest room*~
- Milo’s sensibilities and sense of discretion
- It didn’t occur to either of them that it was important
- “We’re fucking - is that important?” is not a good conversation starter
Other notes:
- Stella is 28
- Javier is 23. He left home at 15, spent ~2 years with the local coyotes, and spent ~5 years mostly alone.
- Milo is 26. He left home at 19, spent ~6 years on the force.
- Milo and Javier were together for about a year before Stella found them
