Hey, I'm finally posting some of the many things I've gotten commissioned over the last 4 years. And I figured it would be best to start with the reference for my big ol' Typhlosion sona! And it wouldn't be me without a silly last name. Calore means 'heat' in Italian, but of course that's not what everyone sees~
Since I apparently have a lot of watchers, here's some more info on Max to read:
The curls on Max's back are from him having Vulpix DNA. Max's father is a Vulpix chef who never evolved (he said the tails would get too much in the way if he did). He also has an alolan ninetales stepsister and regular ninetales stepbrother. Both siblings are older than him.
As a former member of a battling team, Max is known for powerful special attacks. His move set is usually Focus Blast / Extrasensory (egg move) / Burn up / Eruption, though sometimes will run will-o-wisp or flamethrower instead of burn up. Max did win a championship league with his team (like the equivalent of be champion in one of the games) but never got along with his team very well. After a rough year later on where the team did poorly, his captain Dynelle dismissed him, which would normally be a one way trip to a Flygon gut, but Max was spared due to his past success and service to the team. Time will tell if his Captain made a mistake or not, as Max now hopes to someday get back at each of his former teammates, to prove they were wrong for dismissing him.
The silver bracelets Max wears were awarded to him for being a non-captain champion Pokémon. They are only silver plated, and otherwise fairly sturdy, meaning they can be used to guard against attacks as a last resort. His name is engraved on the inside of one.
Max's special abilities:
Max has better hearing than normal. The downside is that he can be more easily disoriented by loud noises at close range.
Despite his size, Max is able to very quiet when he tries to be stealthy. Finding cover can be an issue though.
Max is immune to fire attacks thanks to his hidden ability, though isn't immune to things like heat, spiciness or smoke.
Max's held item:
His glasses, while prescription, also double as wise glasses!
Minor updates to ref:
If you consider my IRL age and Max's age the same, I am 30 at the time of writing this
You can add dragon type pokemon to his dislikes <w<
Max can definetly eat more than 2x his weight now, especially if it's in grass types.
Max will avoid eating other Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosions or Vulpix/Ninetales as they tend to remind him of his family

Max definitely sounds like a pretty cool character. Plus, not every fighter needs to be in good shape. Some can be heavier than a brick building and still kick ass. Not to mention tanks can do well if used right.
Also, I REALLY love Typhlosion as they're one of my favorite Pokemon

Thanks. Max certainly shouldn't be underestimated, All of his attacks pack a punch.
But being a special attacker and not a physical one means extra weight doesn't help him offensively, and slows him down considerably since he never tries to train enough to adapt.
The heft probably does make him a little tankier but you did describe the Flygon captain pretty well. She'll be posted later.
