The results of todays Elfane Stream.

I have no idea what to call it so I'm calling it evolution for now. If an Elfane practices and trains their magic extensively, they undergo physical changes, which are illustrated here. I also changed some base design elements for each... element.

First up are fire Elfane. Their base difference from other Elfane are only their super long fur. When they "evolve", they begin to grow another set of ears. Think fennec fox. In the desert, ears cool it off. Fire Elfane are much hotter than fennecs. :P The extra set of ears help lower the body temperature, and the long fur is fire proof. Their sensitive skin secretes an oil that produces the fire proof effect. The ears are mostly functional, and always smaller than the original set. They can hear, and move in a few directions. The main set of ears can point in any direction, but the second set has limited range.

Next is the Earth Elfane. Their base design has spikes now, but only a few. this means all Earth Elfane begin to grow spikes that grow as they get older. Once they begin to "evolve", they grow more spikes in new locations, and also an extra set of horns(this includes the Aetherian Elfane; so, Chiropterian Elfane will then have 2 sets of horns and Aetherian will have one set)

Lightning Elfanes eyes will change to glow always once they evolve. Normally Elfane eyes only look like this when using magic, but the lightning Elfane will always have glowing eyes. Their saliva also becomes colored and much more potent. It is now poisonous and acts much like acid. The lightning Elfane have no base differences from other Elfane.

Neutral Elfane do not have magic, thus they do not ever "evolve" their abilities. Instead, they build muscle easier than the elemental Elfane. The example I drew was more comical than reality based, btw xD No beefcake Elfane.

Plant Elfane, modeled by my lovely character Anya are a little different than most Elfane. Their whiskers begin to fan out at the bottoms and have a sort of "leafy" appearance, similar to a moth. That is their only base difference. When they "evolve" they gain no actual physical attributes. Instead, their magic is so strong, they can summon or create multiple plants at any given time. So, a very strong plant Elfane can conjure a trail of flowers behind them, summon a garden in seconds, or nourish a patch of soil depleted of water and nutrients. Also, when they "evolved" plant Elfane dies, the rose will never die naturally. The soul remains in the rose until it is destroyed or it is reincarnated. The rose will spawn into a rose bush and will produce MORE roses, thus adding souls to the very limited Elfane soul pool. For this reason, many plant Elfane train very hard to attain this.

Ice Elfane have had many base differences added. Their muzzles are shorter and broader, ears are shorter, larger nostrils, fur is much more fluffy and their claws are much larger than other Elfane. Water Elfane, modeled by my lovely Ajna, have little base differences. Just the much shorter fur, and webbed fingers/toes. When they "evolve", they gain a third eye. c: Simple! Some people have asked about their magic. Elfane can only manipulate existing water at a young age. As their power grows, they can eventually learn to pull water from their surroundings, including air. So, if they're in a dry area, like the desert, they're screwed. However, they can pull it from other living creatures, so they can dehydrate an enemy. Once "evolved" a water Elfane can then create water from their own bodies. They don't need to pull it from anything. It just appears. x3 So, if Ajna ends up in a desert, she'll be just fine. Water Elfane that have reached this point in their abilities are very intelligent and highly respected. Water Elfane that have "evolved" tend to have strong psychic abilities as well.

Last but not least, Air Elfane. Their base differences are short main fur, long tufts on fur on their ear and tail tips, as well on their elbows. When they "evolve", they begin to grow an extra set of wings. Their eyes also glow always, like the lightning Elfane. Air Elfane that have reached this point are the most intelligent and respected of all Elfane. The air Elfane are usually the ones in charge of shrines and sacred ceremonies. They also gain the ability to speak directly to the Goddesses and are often messengers.

I'm not 100% certain of Ajna's age yet... I like her without the whiskers, but she's supposed to be older and important and such, so we'll see. x3

EDIT: Oh, and Elfane also sometimes have lotus markings on their fur, depending on their element. Ajna has a two petal lotus marking on her back because the Ajna chakra is symbolized by a two petal lotus. Anya also has a "sun" marking that is based off of a lotus flower as well because her chakra, Anahata, has more petals than Ajna. They can be highly stylized, or resemble the lotus, doesn't matter.
