Battle Beast (Thokk from Invincible) once killed a Viltrumite (The setting's equivalent of Saiyans or Kryptonians) and partially devoured him while he was floating in space. There was nothing else to eat, after all.
He is the sort of pred who would be extremely disappointed if you didn't put up a fight while you were being digested. If he could swallow a Viltrumite whole he'd do it in a second just for the post-gulp antics.
In the comic he's plantigrade and has no tail, but I wasn't having any of that. Lion men should always have a tail. They look weird without them, just as WoW Worgen look all wrong without a wolf tail.

There was an old Toyline made by Takara (Hasbro) and they were "kinda" leaning on the Transformers in Japan, but had no relation to them outside Japan. It was comprised of anthropomorphic animals that wore cybernetic armor and each had the powers of one of 3 elements: Wood, Fire, or Water. Obviously creating another niche for Japans Rock Scissors Paper riff. Funny thing: One of the main characters was a white Lion XD So this obviously reawakened some childhood memories and that immediately where my brain flashed to.
Here's an info link with a decent pic, but you can just google Battle Beasts Hasbro yourself too

That does sound familiar, actually. There's a lot of wacky small volume stuff from back then. There used to be toys called "Beanz" which could be bought with "Bods" that were other critters that wrapped around them. The combination was super vorish and I have a few on my knick-knack shelf. Sadly the rubber has long since hardened so each Bean is stuck with its Bod. 83
Battle Beast is under a curse. He managed to unify his planet's warring tribes and bring peace but in the process he became addicted to battle. He grew more and more powerful but had nothing left in life but the quest for better fights. He's an extremely one dimensional character, but sometimes you need a thug. It's best if the strongest thug is on your side and that's him.
