So it may have been noticeable in a few recent uploads that I'm yet again going through a bit of a redesign period for my lizrd self, which may come as no surprise given how often I seem to go back and fiddle with character designs overall :V. It's another slow-going one (the original design sat at 95% completion for like 5 or 6 months, I think, lel), so it'll probably be a while before I slap together a full proper ref, but here's what I'm looking at so far.
Most of the base elements are staying un-changed, since I've grown rather attached to the main shade of green and the overall design I've got thus far, so really I'm just kinda tweaking a few things like the specific green of the spines (now more a darker version of the main), changing the eye color (to a nice pinkish-purply-lavender I'm also growing attached to as a secondary color :v), and probably most significant in this iteration; the return of hip markings (that are definitely being pulled over from the Sprena form), which I haven't had in default since I was a lot shorter and horsier. Helps break up some of the large color zones of the design, I thought. As well, I think more than anything a lot of the changes are to my artstyle's evolution over the years, and how I do specific details like faces and whatnot. Here specifically I'm also trying to finally shift some anatomy details closer to the 🦎 side of things, with wider-set hips so the tail can flow more directly from the body, something I've been trying to depict since I started drawing these nerds but just wasn't very good at. Also probably the tail itself is getting longer because fug it why not, them things is long as fuck on real ones sometimes.
I had played around with more overt changes too, like several types of facial markings like the other two lizards have (also inspired by Sprena), but none of them really looked quite right. Because for better or worse this is definitely still a self-representative character, and I noticed if I changed him too much it started to not feel like me, anymore. So, I'll just take it slow on what'll probably be a design that continues to evolve over time as I get whatever silly ideas to make changes down the line.
