The love of Biriana
I feel there's a lot of fear in us. A lot of hate. A lot of twisting energies that show outwardly in our every day lives.
I think it gets too easy starting to believe that it's healthy, that it's right. These feelings at odds with others and ourselves. Go a little deeper though, journey waywardly into the roots beneath the soil's surface and you'll find...love.
Our love was stifled. Unreciprocated it turned to hate.
Our intent was unseen. Ignored it grew apathetic.
Our expression was unsupported. Abandoned, it shriveled to silence.
It is easy to sit with these terrible feelings and seek nothing more than distractions to fill in the gaps where we believe our meaning vanished.
Yet despite it all there is something I see in each and every one of you through this. Something that goes beyond any hate, any loss of faith. I see kinship. I see humanity. I see love in you still. Even the softest whispers no matter how faint.
It is important to recognize this part about ourselves. That despite every indignity we've suffered, despite every dismissal and pain, our love is still here because we are still here. And we're not alone.
We have each other, you know? As long as I'm here, you'll always have me.
