I'm a big fan of Lovecraft. For those of you that don't know him Wiki now! He is truly one of the greatest horror writers of all time.
What I have written was a homage to him and his most influential (though not even best) work. The Cthulhu mythos. I wrote my own original story based on the story of Cthulhu. This was my final project for my fiction and poetry class. It is unedited and a bit rough, but that's how the professor wanted them. His class was about the quality of writing not quality of punctuation and grammar.
Anyway here is what I wrote, tell me what you think.
Oh my professor also said that I should enter it into some big writing thing coming up in a couple of months, prize would be a few hundred bucks. If he thinks it's good enough to enter I'd like more input.

I think you might have left your name and a page number inside the file...
Are there actually sections of New York that still have gas lamps? I may have missed what year this is set in, but that seemed more incredible than ancient, disorienting architecture from the character's dreams. If there are such old, unremodeled sections of town, then I guess I truly learn something new every day.
