well, here is the first set of poems I ever wrote. I hope you enjoy.

The Change
I have felt the beast welling up inside of me.
It has taken my mind completely.
There is no return to what I once was.
My body has begun to shed its weakness from the inside out.
It started with my vulnerabilities.
Then consumed my feelings, rage is the only one left.
I can feel my body giving way to something else.
Nails will turn to talons, skin will turn to scales,
my back will part for wings, and the tail will form.
It is all inevitable.
This side of me will die and I will be reborn.
To tell the truth, I have never felt better.
Prologue to Return
To whom who is reading this.
These are my last words.
I have watched as my entire race has been exterminated.
In our overconfidence, we did not perceive the threat.
That was our ultimate downfall.
Now I am the last one left.
To suffer as my race’s existence is banished to legends.
Our flames will grow cold, our scales will lose luster,
Our claws will be blunted, and our wings will be still.
This will pass when I have breathed my last.
But know this, I will return one day.
My mind will find one whose soul will accept it.
The one who will become one of us.
His eyes will bear my mark.
Their color will never settle, but be forever shifting.
He will restore our race.
To whom who is reading this.
These are my final thoughts.
Shattered
In the final moments between them,
they had known only sorrow.
Her passing had left a gap in his heart.
One that could never be filled again.
Tears glinted silver in the moonlight,
Sliding down his scaled cheek.
“Please do not leave me,
You are not the only one affected.
My resolve has shattered into pieces,
Though I do not show it to others.
Despair tugs at my heart like a chain.
You can grab it and take my heart,
Though I do not know how much is left.”
He left her now lifeless body, still warm.
Wings carrying him across the moonlit sky.
Tears streaming behind him as he left the land.
