"Hello there and welcome to my clinic, I will make sure to take great care of you today, please make your way to the back and I'll be with you shortly."
The woman behind the counter had a kind smile upon her face that made the small clinic seem a little more homely. Although something stood out with her, maybe it was the scars on her face or the red discolored eye she had. But what stood out the most was the metallic prosthetic arm she had, the vials of strange liquid resting upon her shoulder, and the needle-like nails upon the tips of her fingers. She also seemed to be the only staff on duty at the moment which was odd, then again the place was small so the other nurses were probably tending to other patients potentially. The person made their way to the back as instructed, but there were questions going through their head, the place was silent, save for the faint music playing on a speaker.
Upon making it to the backroom, the patient sat upon a bed and waited for the woman at the desk to come in. It didn't take long before she did, holding a little clipboard with a smile.
"Alright, let's get this small check-up underway shall we, my name is Roshex Viveski and I will be your doctor for today and anytime you visit my clinic. Since you only wished for a check-up I can easily get this done without taking up too much of your time."
The check-up seemed to be standard procedure, check pulse, blood pressure, height and weight. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and the doctor was taking great care not to harm the patient with their needle fingers. For the patient though the metal arm was very interesting, they had never seen one made so well or even to serve whatever purpose that one did. While the doctor was writing something down on the clipboard the patient slowly reached out to touch the metallic arm. The metal was smooth and well taken care of, the joints made no noise when they moved and it seemed to be made out of high-quality steel.
"O-oh please refrain from touc-"
Her words were cut short as she seemed to zone out for a second, blinking as if zoning back in to reality, the patient quickly retracted their arm in concern. It was wrong to do such a thing but the arm was somewhat mesmerizing to look at, they went to apologize but Roshex put a hand up to stop them.
"You don't need to apologize, I can understand your curiosity, I don't mind if you want to look it over at all."
Roshex extended her arm out towards the patient for them to feel it as much as they wanted to, which seemed strange since it seemed like she was against it a second ago. But the patient shrugged it off and began studying it, explaining how prosthetic limbs were interesting to them. Viveski nodded as she listened, getting closer and sitting down with next to them with a smile, her lab coat being a tad more open and revealing than before. Of course, this was a bit more awkward for the patient, they thought that maybe their feeling of the arm looked like flirting to her. They went to apologize and ask if they could finish up the check-up before they felt a sharp twinge of pain on the side of their neck.
They quickly jumped off the bed in panic on what the hell that was, looking at the doctor who had a hand on their mouth looking sorry.
"Oh my, apologies, I am so sorry I wasn't paying attention and poked you a little. I deeply apologize for that, sometimes I forget they're there sometimes."
The doctor seemed greatly apologetic about the situation and their reasoning was understandable. The patient reassured her it was alright and that they would be leaving now if that's alright with... They struggled to finish that sentence as the room seemed to blur and spin greatly confusing them. They looked to the doctor in an attempt to figure out what was going on, but they had a very sinister-looking smile upon their face.
"Is something the matter dear patient? You seem a little off-balance there, maybe you should come over and sleep it off, doctors orders."
Her tone of voice had shifted drastically, they no longer made the person feel safe, they had to get out, NOW. They turned around as they struggled to leave, only to feel a hard hand grasp their shoulder, several painful jabs poking into their shoulder.
"Now, now we can't have you wandering the streets like this you're liable to hurt yourself more than I will. Don't worry I'll take... Great care of you."
The doctor said with a smile on her face as she dragged the patient towards a hidden door, one they knew would spell their doom as they blacked out.
