As she headed home, Dani's anger at Jane's remarks changed into depression. Unwilling to face her apartment, she changed directions and made a beeline for her sister's place.
Cassie and Dani may fuss and fight and snap at each other at times, but they're still family. Cassie would be up at this time of the morning, and she'd be sympathetic.
So while Cassie drank her morning coffee, she was just there, a reassuring presence as Dani lowered his sister's strategic ice cream and tissue stockpiles.
