Here is an example of how what matters most to me with my business is making people happy.
The other head is still perfectly sound both visually and craftsmanship wise, still perfectly usable. The customer was happy with it at first and took it as an artistic variation of their character. But then upon seeing Sophie Manx and Nano and how well I captured the customers art style the little hint of dislike they had for their own mask began to grow.
I was told that from the begining there was a little twinge of dislike because this character is very personal to her and is character she has been drawing for several years. So, while she liked the head overall, it just never quite "felt" like it was Darky Delacroix and that bothered her.
And so I made a new one for the mere 30% down payment cost and the old head will be returned, altered and resold in an attempt to break even (unlikely with a used head)
But even if i do not break even, I do not care, for my customer is now happy

You really do go above and beyond the call of duty to make your customers happy.
I just want to say this right here right now:
Anyone who is a customer of yours, and for whatever reason is bitching about your work it's because they've never actually took the time to e-mail about it and give you a chance to rectify it. Not only that, but you made it better than ever (namely those interchangeable eyes, you didn't have to do that, but you WANTED to.)
You never once even HINTED that I was being unreasonable, or that I should just be happy since there was nothing wrong with the head I had, etc. You took my concern, my HONEST concern, and totally owned up to it, and took the time to rebuild something that may end up being at a loss to you. If that isn't excellent customer service, I sure as hell don't know what is (and this comes from me, I work in a Customer Service job for a LIVING.. I KNOW customer service! xD)
So seriously, you're awesome. If anyone knocks you, you send their ass to me. I was a customer with a concern, and I couldn't be happier with how you handled it.

Part of what bugs me the most with the few unhappy customers I have heard of is that they seem to want to be miserable!
I feel bad that instead of comming to me they sat there and dwelled on the issues untill they convinced themselves I was the wicked witch of the west out to scam them of their money!
I know my 2008 stuff is not up to snuff but I sure as hell did not purposefully make anything poorly! I still put my heart and soul into the work, the problem was my skills were just not as good at the time (but my prices were also a lot lower back then.)
Now scamming is what folks like KashmirDreams below has delt with; that being the person taking your money and vanishing with no intent to make the costume. Did what I made last as long as they expected? No, but they still got their item and got use out of it, and had they come to me they would have gotten repairs and replacements at fractional costs (if not free!)

Yeah, I don't like when people have an issue and wait until they're really, really agitated to contact me. If they would have just contacted me when it was only bothering them... the situation would be a lot less stressful for both sides.

As i've said before. My characters are more than just colors. They've got personality.. and that makes up more of their character than the colors do.

This is very inspiring for me. I want a fursuit SO bad, and have already been screwed over once by someone over a head (who basically took my money and ran). I'm kinda traumatized, and people I keep talking to have stuff posted on artists_beware about them, so, this is very refreshing that there IS a fursuit maker who really cares for her customers THAT much. I've admired your suits for a while now but, this just hits another level of respect for you. I hope I can save enough to commission you cause I definitely think it would be worth the price.
I have heard the case of "i gave them my money and then i never heard from them again" so many times that it makes me sick!
with me, at worst, i may take a long time to answer emails because i am so dang busy! or may miss a deadline because i took on too much. even if life throws something at me and i have to be the one to say "sorry i cannot do it" i would give my customers their money back!

Personally I much prefer the old head.. I dont think you'll have a lick of trouble reselling it ;). I'm sure the artist will be very happy with this one if closer to their style.. you really do go above and beyond the call of duty in regards to fursuiting customers, good on you :).
