~Every year, from late April to early June, the merfolk of the sea nations flock to the shores to mate or marry with each other or any land dweller they fancy though that is very rare. For centuries this practice has been carried out and the tradition has earned itself the nickname "MerMay" by the those who dwell on the land. Normally, this is considered invitation for predators like Louise to devour them. Louise normally loves this time of year, the fact that she is well known as a safe pred makes her kind of popular with friendly seafolk. Heck, one year her stomach pretty much became a hotel room for one frisky couple. However, the main reason Louise hangs out near bodies of water during this time is for two reasons: 1. To prevent black magic users and cultists from kidnapping the merfolk for their evil plans. and more personally 2. to protect humans from being attacked and killed by predators who have no respect for their rarity, the fact that her boyfriend is human only makes her more protective.
This year, she was too late, while looking for a fishing spot she stumbled across a couple happily chatting about the human the mermaid had eaten and mostly digested. When Louise asked them about it they laughed and admitted to their crime with no remorse or care that the human was only trying to swim around. Well, unfortunately for them, Louise chose to ignore the usual process of turning them in to the police and instead shrunk them down and swallowed them. Those two were now going to learn a lesson that they won't live long enough to forget while in her stomach: "Be careful who you admit your crime to, the consequences may be dire.~
Ooooohkay, glad I got this done, interesting enough when I started this a week ago I had forgotten all about MerMay. How's that for timing?
