since you are in the "macfurs" group its pretty obvious what you think about this ;D
in my opinion they are both great and it really depends on what you want.
apple wont let you do much to the core system of mac OS. you can run and download some programs, run them very smoothly and thats it. its a great system if you just want to "work" with your computer in an easy and uncomplicated way.
windows on the other hand is a lot more customizable. you can do much more to the system itself, run MUCH more programs on it. but on the other hand its not as reliable as OSX and if you dont know what you are doing you can easily damage the whole OS :P
i really dont like both companies behind the systems. microsoft is all about money and pumping out halfassed shit and apple tries to keep the customer on an extremely short leash, you cant use your products to their full potential because mr. jobs doesnt want you to... (for example, my jailbroken 2nd gen ipod touch was able to multitasking and using wallpapers long before iOS 4 was released ;P). it also sucks that they want to control what you have on your device. for example, i wanted to try iOS 4 on my ipod, decided that it sucks hard and wanted to install iOS 3.1.3 again. i wasnt able to because apple wont allow it. WTF...

In my opignion, Mac OS is more simple, without virus or bugs, faster than Windows, and SL can run with stronger PCs althrough Windows can't. Ok there's more program in Windows, but is like a iPhone : You have 200 programs but you use only 50... And, ok it's more customizable than Mac OS... Windows is ONLY for games. The Macs are better to run Photoshop, Word (...), Safari is faster than Explorer...
So, iOS4 is only for iPhone, isn't he ? But I've crashed my iPhone (Jailbreak with 3.1.2) and as I don't have my SIM, I'm with a iPhone who cannot run... Well Ok, Apple has a bad politic... But, Their Products are better quality.

In my opignion, Mac OS is more simple, without virus or bugs, faster than Windows, and SL can run with stronger PCs althrough Windows can't. Ok there's more program in Windows, but is like a iPhone : You have 200 programs but you use only 50... And, ok it's more customizable than Mac OS... Windows is ONLY for games. The Macs are better to run Photoshop, Word (...), Safari is faster than Explorer...

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that OSX has less trouble with malware :P
and they have their problems like every other hardware engineering company^^ the overall quality might be good but look at the current flaws of their newest items: the iphone 4 has a badly designed antenna ánd bluetooth problems, the ipad wont work if it gets too hot and overall the displays that they use work very well but they are glossy... you see fingerprints on them and they reflect the light way too much.
in my opinion they care too much about the looks of their products right now and not about usability.
oh, and iOS 4 is availabe for the iphone 4, 3GS and 3G AND the ipod touch 3G and 2G.
what exactly happened while jailbreaking the phone? which jailbreak did you use?

Yes, The new iPhone or iPad aren't very good (but the Retina screen is wonderful !), and the iPad is a iPhone...
