Service Gynoid, 1955 - Soviet Martian Republic
Excerpt from "A brief History of the Ministry of Robotics", T. Ogdenov, 2097, MSSR
"In the mid ninteen-fifties, Mons Olympus was faced with severe demographic issues. The first wave of colonists had, by that point, been decimated by difficulties of travel and establishment of the colonial infrastructure. Many of their children - the first Mars-Born generation of Soviet citizens - was left orphaned or growing in a household where a single parent had to dedicate most of their day to ensuring the survival of the colony. Goverment authorities were terrified by the idea that, without a second wave of colonists from Earth, these children would end up in overcrowded, understaffed orphanages or, more likely, living as criminal street urchins, never receiving the education that would've been vital to the survival of the colony itself.
This crisis has, not without merit, been called the tuning point for the Ministry of Robotics. With the introduction of the 1955 model of Service Gynoid, the Ministry had surpassed their previous accomplishments and created an automaton which could safely and productively interact with human children. This generation would become the first to be raised almost entirely by robots."
