I lived 60 minutes away from New Orleans when I lived with my parents. For the most part it's a very dangerous shithole. The French quarter is kind of nice though, but insanely expensive/dangerous in some areas. Never really wanted to go anywhere in that city except for the hospital to get my eyes checked.
