This is a thing for
danruk. I tried a different gouache technique, and there's alot I like about it, but I'll have to refine it.

This is getting cross-posted to my FA. I totally love the box-elements stacked near the bed. The arrow box needs a 'this side up' but upside-down from the actual arrow direction for comic effect. (Or just leave it alone, really, I'm just making a silly observation) The hat-on-the side balance it has a curious style.. sort of like those old Barbershop-vaudeville hats in shape and demeanor. That is also a bit different than the norm. Awrr.. Dangling cute tail poor roo a bit too big for his bed.. at least Danruk Sleeps well and comfortably all curled up.
You've done an amazing job with this Roo. Your artitstic efforts have not gone un-appreciated. I only wish I could return some artistic or other favor aside from just a humble and simple thank you. If you can think of anything let me know.

Thankyou. There's a neat two-part process to colouring a painting like this. There's a layer with the values, like the stuff I did with greyscale markers, then a thin gouache wash in another colour on top. It creates cool, mysterious colour variations, and I think it looks harder than it is.
I also wanted to mention that your style, while starting out 'more scribbly' in earlier attempts with what you've posted in last year has improved to a more refined 'scribble style' which I absolutely think is going to set you apart from other artistic styles out there. Keep with it and keep refining and improving. You're doing great!
