the way i interpreted is that it'll respond to touch (like this one, essentially wobbling up into rubbing hands like a cat will headbutt your hand for a pet), will gurgle back in response when talked to, will lunge forward at food, will thrash around impatiently, ect.
basically not full sentience to where it'll literally talk back with words but enough that it knows that it's receiving food or attention and will demand food or attention :P
