This is a good example of what I mean. The eyes look cross-eyed when you are being looked at directly. This is solely due to the angle of placement of the eyes. They need to be in line with each other, parallel to the wearers eyes. I accomplish this by using a thick cardboard tube which I cut at a curve/angle to mount to my head frame. You can easily do it similarly by gluing it to the foam. Here's a photograph of the latest head I made showing the mounting of the eyes.

And one showing the eyes from above. You can't see it, but the eyes are in-line with each other. They are not at angles to each other in other words.

And here's a view from the side: http://rexwolf.furtopia.org/fursuit.....2/DSC_4321.JPG
The result is eyes that aren't crossed. These are not true follow-me eyes; that can be created by putting them deeper into the head. I had no interest in follow-me eyes for this character though:

The single most valuable piece of advice I can give you; which I just learned from making this, my 11th costume, is to take your time. It took 3 weeks to do the paws, feet, and body; but three MONTHS to do the head. It is the first costume for my new way of making costumes, and I'm not entirely happy with it. Which leads to the second piece of advice: always critisize the hell out of your work as that is the only way you can improve. Look for mistakes. Look for errors. Look for things that could be better and try to figure out how to do it better then next time around. And don't be afraid to try something new. Every costume I make has at least one or two new ways of doing something.
