Came up with a couple OCs for this wonderful game! (and one self-insert because, come on. It's me. the self-insert trash-mallow. I can't NOT make one lol)
Sylvie is a silverfish, probably my favorite kind of bug. She lives in a house that actually used to be an entire book, but she ate away at it until it became a comfy house-shaped place for her to live. She's the shy and sweet one, she can hold her own in a fight but she just really prefers to avoid them altogether. She's the self-insert but I'm still trying to work out her backstory so it fits nicely into canon (and also so it works with who I want to ship her with oops *eyes emoji*)
Folia is a walking leaf (entirely separate from Leafbug tribe). She's a bit quiet as well but she's not necessarily shy. Definitely the mature one of the bunch, but she's not a strict parent type of bug. She can definitely cause mischief if she really wants to, but for the most part she just has that air of quiet maturity about her, if that makes any sense. She's the strongest of the three and also the most protective, standing up for Sylvie when the latter can't speak for herself or helping Lilith stay confident.
Lilith is based off of a zorotypus hubbardi (Hubbard's angel insect). Real life angel insects generally don't have eyes or wings, but when the colony faces hardship, new offspring will be born with eyes and wings so that they can help find better places to live. Lilith is in an in-between stage, where her colony was only just beginning to move to a new place, so she was born without eyes, as well as (non-functional) wings. She claims that her extra legs make up for her lack of sight, since she has more appendages to feel around for her surroundings, but it's not the most reliable way of doing so. She's very adamant about doing things herself and can be pretty stubborn. She's not a scrapper, but she hates being pitied by people, so she hides her face and trains a lot, telling people that her blindfold is a self-imposed challenge as part of her training.
I still need to work on a story as to how they all come together (and interact with other characters), but for right now I'm proud of how they turned out design-wise. I also don't know what their team name would be, but I'm sure one will come to me eventually.
