Created for the "Weird" theme of AptoApril 2021. The idea was to take the "anime schoolgirl running late with toast in her mouth" adage and attach it to a Rhinogradentia, these weird animals (also known as snouters) who move around with their noses. The problem is that I had no previous drawing experience with either of the things I was combining. (I have no instinct for clothing and had to Google reference images.)
It was hard choosing a species of snouter to use. I ultimately went with the earwing (Otopteryx volitans), who goes places by essentially Backwards-long-jump-gliding with its big nose and big ears, and that had to suit the theming the most. However, in choosing it, I gave up some other features I would have liked to draw with, such as a long tail... or back legs?
