In Order to Protect: Landing by DinoGoat

Eria was falling now. Air rushing by her heavily armored face, wind whistling into her ears, her audio sensors unable to pick anything up other than the rushing sound as she hurtled toward the earth. The only thing she could see was the ground rushing forth to meet her, with the varying buildings around her intended ‘landing area’ being much of the only other things strun about the rock and desert expanse she was hurtling toward.
For most, this would be nothing but terrifying, but for the mechanical dragoness? This brought her a form of peace. Feeling her hair rushing and billowing out behind her, the crimson hue the only outstanding color kept outside of her blue cybernetics upon her form. The rest either clad in black kevlar strengthened latex or a smooth hardened metal armor, with various bits of tech hidden away under its surface. While her body’s feeling was appropriately dampened for the landing she was about to experience, and the amount of pressure she was currently under and would be under once she landed in the combat zone, her recent, ‘recalibrations’, still afforded her the luxury of feeling this all to a degree she hadn’t really felt before.
So while most would be screaming in some form of abject terror at their imminent demise, Eria, was as stated, at peace. The wind whipping, her hair billowing, her body jostling amidst the pressures of the wind and air slamming into her body as it reached terminal velocity. All these sensations running through her processors, even amidst all her needed calculations within her own mechanical skull, were yet another reminder, that she was in fact alive.
And as such, she had an important job to do.
As the ground began to gain much further detail, Eria would spread her mouth in a smirk. Most other individuals couldn’t be put into situations like this, any form of standard ground unit would be at major risk trying to airdrop into such a location. A parachuting squad would be shot down in moments, if the low flying plane wasn’t shot down first. But her? She didn’t need a parachute, she didn’t need to worry about the plane flying so high in the atmosphere targeting was nothing but a pipe dream. All she needed to worry about, was where she was going to land, and what it would take to get there.
And she was about to come upon that spot in mere moments, as she did a slight front facing roll in the air, her hair flowing around her for a second like a crimson shield, before her feet where now the things pointing toward the ground. With a single thought, her jetpack ignited, the rockets flaring and her momentum rapidly getting counter acted as it lurched her mechanical form.
“Opp...might have been a little late there.” She giggled, as her slight bit of daydreaming made it so that the ground despite the jetpack was getting to her a lot faster than her calculations originally predicted. But that was fine, she was still well within her margin for error, as she simply braced her mechanical legs, loosened up the joints interlocking her various appendages along with the mechanical muscles lined around them.
And in a short few moments, she SLAMMMED down hard into the rock and sand filled clearing. A mass of dust and rock flying out from her landing position, a cloud forming as she skidded and then rolled along the ground after impact, said impact blasting a hole in the rock as she braced herself against the stone, and lurched upward to right herself. In what she called a 7.5 point landing, she found herself with her legs partly bent along the ground, one arm back partly pressed into the dust cloud she created. Her crimson hair still looking fresh, the mechanical metallic yet soft strands flowing in the wind with no ounce of caked on dust within them. A perk of futuristic tech, very important. Her final arm now raised, an energy shield projected out in front of her in a more wide orientation, ready to catch her if the momentum kept her roll from ending. But, luckily, it had not, as she flicked her head about a bit, tail blade raised just in case of imminent danger. She perked her ears up, tuning in her audio receptors as she said softly to herself.
“Right...now to save those cadets... “ She chuckled, the sounds of gunfire and shouting in various languages coming from far off in the distance, that same level of shouting seeming to be heard rushing toward her position as well. She smirked, raising herself from her landed position, and looked out at the long expanse of terrain she had to cover between the shouting she recognized and the rest.
“No time to waste” She stated, before her expression became a bit more focused, and she dematerialized her shield, before firing up her rocket boosters once again.
And with a few mighty strides out of her own self made crater, she began rocket jumping her way toward the appropriate location, hoping beyond hope, that she was not too late…

DinoGoat to be a bit of a continuation of THIS and to link it to another image that I had been sitting on for a while. Decided to try my hand last Sunday in doing a bit more involved of a 'combat' sequence. I have no real experience in such things outside of movies and games, but, I do hope it is still an enjoyable read for those that give it a look. It is a massive story when all put together, but one I had a lot of fun writing. Was something different, and I hope seeing miss Eria here in a bit more than a lewd light is interesting to some of you out there ^^.
(also, just to say, this turned out so hecken gooooood ; v ; She did so good with Eria's armor and the shield aaaa it looks so coooool! Just heecckk!)

¬_¬ I must find the opportunity to hack into her system to bring her under my control, just kidding.
