"Hey... Do you remember when we first met? I walked you home to shield you from the rain... just like this."
This was inspired by "My Immortal" by Evanescence.
A hard lesson that Wraith had to learn was that he couldn't save everyone. At least partially because not everyone wanted to be saved. This unmarked grave is where the ashes of a friend is buried, beside that of their family in the graveyard of a church they once attended and had been abandoned centuries ago. This was one of the nightlings Wraith made who then walked out into the sun. This poor soul's family was attacked by early witch hunters for being seen associating with a "monstrous serpent", and was the only one still alive when said serpent arrived, so he turned them. With their family dead and torn apart by grief, the prospect of eternity with the pain of this loss was more than they could bear, and simply chose to stop writing their own story.
Vampires often have a problem with certain types of change, and have great difficulty letting go. Wraith is not an exception to this, and is often found clinging to memories of days long past, like guilt from feeling responsible for this friend's premature end. He visits from time to time to bring flowers and roughly maintain the graveyard. Every time, the bouquet contains Amaranth blossoms-- blossoms that retain their beauty long after they die.
"These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase..."
