Hazel Donovan is a former police officer whose last major act on the force was saving the life of a wandering mage and becoming inundated with the hidden world of witchery and magic. Made a living portal to the elemental plane of air in a freak occurrence, Hazel is a bridge between two worlds, with the power to call upon the winds of her second home as a tool, aid or weapon. Exactly how much control she has over them at any given time is a matter of practice and training.
After excusing herself from the SCPD for a host of practical and personal reasons, Donovan has tried to make ends meet as a private investigator, often finding herself drawn into odd, paranormal cases where her new magical friend can rarely be too far behind.
Constantly channeling some degree of aeromantic magicks through her body has given Hazel a very...bouyant figure, shaped and maintained by the markings on her limbs and stomach inscribed by the mage Akila. She operated under the assumption that Hazel would prefer a redistribution of air in a few key places as opposed to a beachball-shaped torso. The areas in question tend to inflate when she is practicing elemental magic, hence a preference for light, stretchy clothing. Odd habits that Hazel has developed such as often wearing airy, revealing garments, a desire to be outdoors and a flightier sense of humor have yet to be determined as a side effect of her elemental powers, or simply a new outlook that she has garnered from her experiences.
Not even Hazel fully comprehends the power that she wields, but as the fledgling sorceress begins the journey of truly mastering the strength at her command, she may become a truly formidable magic maker.
